Anti-virus Software

Any student bringing their own Windows-based laptop to school should have some form of functioning anti-virus program operating on it before connecting to the school's public wireless network.  While this is strongly recommended it is not a requirement for use at school.

You are free to purchase security suites for your son or daughter's laptop prior to bringing them to school but for those who prefer not to purchase a security suite  there are many free options to choose from.

Please keep in mind there are several forms of protection software.  There is malware/adware protection, virus and trojan protection and root-kit protection.  Each of these do different things and offer differing levels of protection.  A security suite covers all of the forms of malicious attacks but you can get good protection with many of the fee apps available.
